The importance of diet combined with activity is the key to maintaining a good body weight. The Body Mass Index is a commonly used formula to estimate if a client is overweight. Taking a measurement of body composition, ie how much fat and how much lean, is an ideal way of getting an individual to focus on losing fat. In addition, measuring their level of fitness and providing them with advice on building activity into their daily routine will improve overall health and wellbeing.
Our weight management programme is run by our qualified Pharmacist Diana Cheung MRPharmS and consists of:
- Weight, height and waist measurement.
- Body composition and blood pressure.
- Aerobic fitness measured and a pedometer supplied.
- Regular “weigh in “ and repeat measurements.
- Diet plan for 6 months.
